Annandale, VA, October 27, 2008 – Today two members of the Advanced DataTools team were honored by IBM as Data Champions. Both Lester Knutsen and Cindy Lichtenauer were chosen for their commitment and advocacy to the Informix Product Line.
Arvind Krishna, Vice President of Data Management and Worldwide Information Management Development, recognized 23 inaugural Data Champions during the Data Management keynote at the IBM Information on Demand Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The award recognizes members of the Data Management community that promote IBM’s Informix product line along with other products in the Data Management portfolio
These chosen advocates also run Web sites, moderate discussion forums, write articles and technical guides, produce videos and podcasts, speak at conferences, teach technical skills and provide many other valuable contributions. On average, Data Champions spend about six to eight hours of their own time per week on community activities.
Lester Knutsen, president and founder of Advanced DataTools, said “Informix has been a huge part of my life for over 20 years and I have built a career around helping users improve the performance of their Informix databases.”
Cindy Lichtenauer said. “I think volunteer work is a great way of giving back to the community that has given me so much.”
