  • Each student has a separate AWS Informix server for exercises and labs
  • Q&A sessions and collaborative class discussions
  • All courses are taught by Lester Knutsen, IBM Informix Lifetime Champion, with over 40 years of Informix experience.

All training will be conducted as virtual classes. I have moved our training servers to the cloud. I continue developing and updating our course formats for a more flexible combination of instructor-led and self-paced course material with the same performance tuning benchmarks labs. I continue to offer limited Custom and Private Informix Courses.

Our Instructors

Lester Knutsen

Our IBM Informix courses are developed and taught by Advanced DataTools founder Lester Knutsen, who is an Informix Certified Professional and a Certified Technical Trainer. Lester taught the Informix Performance Tuning Course for Informix Corporation as an independent instructor.  He is an experienced database consultant with a reputation for providing excellent training based on his extensive and up-to-date working knowledge of Informix. Lester has been building large database systems with Informix since 1983. He enjoys teaching; he is frequently asked to develop and conduct additional customized courses for customers, and has been teaching his own Informix classes for over 20 years. Lester Knutsen was one of the first to receive the IIUG Directors award in 2002; he is a member of the IBM Gold Consultant program and in October 2008 received one of the Inaugural Data Champion awards by IBM.
